The client wanted to host a banquet event in an outdoor lawn setting, expecting approximately 120-150 guests, while also requiring space for pathways and entry points. The goal was to allow guests to fully experience the natural environment while maintaining a sense of ceremony and comfort.

To meet the client’s needs and considering various factors including the site environment, Gaxtent customized a curved, clear-span tent for the client. The tent’s overall structure is simple and elegant, blending seamlessly with the environment. The column-free interior design allows the client to freely arrange the banquet layout and decorations, enhancing the overall experience.

Client Requirements

During the project planning phase, the client outlined the following specific requirements regarding the event scale, venue environment, and visual effects:

1. A large, unobstructed space to accommodate a large banquet

The planned outdoor banquet is expected to host approximately 120-150 guests, requiring space for round tables, pathways, service areas, and decoration areas. To ensure unobstructed views and smooth traffic flow, we wanted the tent interior to be free of central columns. This would not only facilitate guest interaction and enhance the overall sense of ceremony but also allow for flexible adjustment of table and chair arrangements according to the event schedule.

2. Highly aesthetically pleasing, considering both daytime and nighttime ambiance

The event will last from afternoon to evening. During the day, we wanted the tent to blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment, allowing ample natural light to create a bright and open outdoor experience; at night, when the lights are on, the tent structure itself should become a visual highlight. Through the interplay of the transparent canopy and lighting, the banquet space should present a romantic, warm, and ceremonial atmosphere, allowing guests to enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience at night as well.

3. Suitable for outdoor use in a mountainous lawn environment

The event venue is located on an open lawn surrounded by mountain views and buildings. While the environment is naturally beautiful, it places high demands on the stability of temporary structures. We wanted the tent structure to have excellent wind and rain resistance, ensuring the banquet can proceed smoothly even in unexpected weather conditions, while maintaining ventilation and comfort, avoiding the oppressive feeling of traditional enclosed spaces.

4. Quick Setup and Reusability

Since the venue is for temporary use, we have specific requirements regarding the construction period: the tent must be installed and put into use within a short time, and efficiently dismantled after the event to minimize impact on the site. Furthermore, we hope the tent can be used for other outdoor events or banquets in the future, so the structure should have good reusability and long-term cost advantages.

1. Selection of a Curved Transparent Roof Design

Problem Solved: Lack of natural light during the day, insufficient romantic atmosphere at night

The client wanted the banquet to extend from the afternoon into the evening. The tent could not appear dull and enclosed during the day, nor could it lack a sense of ceremony at night.

Based on this, Gaxtent chose a curved transparent roof structure:

The curved roof visually stretches the height of the space, avoiding the oppressive feeling of a flat roof structure, making the tent appear spacious and light even with a large number of guests.

The highly transparent roof material allows ample natural light during the day, creating a natural connection with the surrounding lawn and mountain scenery, giving the banquet a more immersive outdoor experience.

At night, when the lights are turned on, the curved transparent roof evenly reflects the internal lighting, making the entire tent like a brightly lit transparent space, becoming the most attractive visual focal point at the event, naturally creating a romantic and high-end atmosphere.

This design not only meets functional needs but also makes the tent itself an important part of the banquet setting.

2. Clear Span Structure

Problem Solved: Providing a truly “unobstructed” space for large banquets, accommodating a large number of guests without affecting layout and traffic flow.

To accommodate the need for 120–150 guests, Gaxtent adopted a clear span structure system:

• There are no internal support columns, completely avoiding the problem of columns obstructing the view and affecting traffic flow in traditional tents.
• The space layout is more flexible, making it easy to arrange banquet round tables, stages, aisles, and care function areas.
• Guests have an unobstructed view and smooth movement during the event, significantly enhancing the overall experience.

From a professional perspective, the clear span structure not only improves space utilization but also better meets the requirements of high-end banquets for overall visual aesthetics and a sense of ceremony.

3. Robust Aluminum Alloy Frame

Problem Solved: Balancing Structural Safety and Aesthetics in an Outdoor Environment

The event venue was located in an open grassy area with a natural surrounding environment, which placed higher demands on the stability and weather resistance of the tent.

Gaxtent selected a high-strength aluminum alloy frame structure:

• Aluminum alloy possesses excellent load-bearing capacity and wind resistance, effectively coping with outdoor wind and rain, ensuring the safety of the event.
• Compared to traditional steel structures, the aluminum alloy frame has a simpler and lighter appearance, and when combined with the transparent roof design, it better meets the aesthetic needs of high-end banquets and events.
• The modular structure design also provides reliable assurance for quick installation and disassembly.

4. Flexible Side Wall Configuration: Adapting to Weather Changes and Event Pace

Problem Solved: The outdoor environment is changeable, making it difficult to balance privacy and transparency.

Considering the time span of the event from afternoon to evening, and the possibility of weather changes, Gaxtent provided multiple side wall options for the tent:

• White soft curtains can be selected to enhance overall privacy and sense of ceremony, suitable for nighttime or formal banquet segments.
• Transparent side walls can also be used to ensure wind and rain protection while maintaining visual transparency and blending in with the surrounding environment.
• The side walls can be flexibly opened or closed according to the on-site weather and event progress, improving comfort and flexibility of use.
