Project Introduction

The client wanted to quickly construct a 24/7 badminton hall on an existing vacant lot for training, competitions, and community activities. Due to a tight schedule, fixed budget, and the need to ensure long-term durability and safety, the client ultimately chose Gaxtent’s large-span Clear Span tent structure badminton hall solution.

The badminton hall features a main frame structure made of 6082/T6 high-strength aluminum alloy, anodized for excellent corrosion resistance. The outer layer is covered with a high-durability PVC-coated tarpaulin, offering flame retardancy, UV resistance, tear resistance, and aging resistance.

Client Needs

The client’s core needs included:

  • Rapid Construction: The venue needed to be operational within a short timeframe, with the construction period less than half that of traditional steel structure factory buildings.
  • Long Service Life and Weather Resistance: Given the local windy conditions, structural stability was crucial to meet long-term training and activity requirements.
  • Indoor Lighting and Comfort: Badminton requires uniform lighting; the hall must not have glare or dark areas.

Cost-effective and easy to maintain: The client wanted a high-performance venue solution within their budget, while minimizing long-term maintenance costs.

Gaxtent’s Badminton Hall Tent Solution

After fully understanding the client’s requirements regarding construction period, structural stability, and long-term operating costs, Gaxtent developed a high-standard, rapidly implementable overall solution for the badminton hall tent.

In this project, we first selected high-strength aluminum alloy of grade 6082/T6 as the main frame structure. This material, after anodizing, not only maintains excellent corrosion resistance in humid or variable climates but also maintains structural stability in strong winds. Simultaneously, its lightweight characteristics significantly improve overall installation efficiency, noticeably shortening the construction period compared to traditional steel structure projects.

To ensure soft lighting and comfortable use inside the hall, high-performance flame-retardant PVC-coated tarpaulin was used for the external covering. This type of tarpaulin has good UV resistance, does not produce glare, and provides a stable lighting environment for badminton. Its tear resistance and anti-aging properties also ensure the durability and safety of the tent during long-term use.

In terms of spatial planning, we adopted a large-span, column-free interior design for the venue. This structure maximizes space utilization, provides a more open view, and allows the standard badminton court layout to be fully realized, ensuring an excellent experience for daily training, open competitions, and multi-functional sporting activities.

To meet the project’s need for rapid deployment, Gaxtent used a modular construction system. All components were prefabricated in the factory and then transported to the site, significantly reducing on-site construction difficulties. This approach not only shortened the overall construction period by more than 50% compared to traditional construction but also truly helped the client achieve the goal of “rapid delivery and immediate operation.”

Client Feedback

After project delivery, the client was very satisfied with the overall performance of the venue. They specifically mentioned that the interior lighting was stable and soft, without glare, which was very conducive to professional training and competitions. Furthermore, the venue structure maintained its excellent performance even during several periods of strong winds and rain, providing a stable and reliable user experience.

On the operational front, the client was pleasantly surprised by the rapid completion of the project, and the early opening allowed them to generate revenue earlier than expected. Subsequent maintenance was also significantly easier than with traditional buildings, greatly reducing operating costs. Based on the positive experience of this collaboration, the client plans to expand more sports facilities in the future and will choose Gaxtent as their preferred partner.

Project Summary

This project fully demonstrates Gaxtent’s expertise in the field of large-span sports tents:
